Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on helping people develop the skills needed to participate in everyday activities, or “occupations”, that are meaningful to them. This includes activities like playing, learning, self-care (e.g., dressing, toileting), and interacting with others.
As an occupational therapist, I work with children, teenagers and adults to improve their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive abilities, supporting their development and independence. Whether it’s helping with sensory processing, fine motor skills, or emotional regulation, the goal is to enable children to thrive in their daily life and reach their full potential.
How can I help?
At Waypoint OT, my role is to support and enhance your participation in meaningful activities. I work with you to uncover what may be making these activities more difficult, and together we create an individualised plan to help you reach your goals. These goals may involve, but are not limited to:
- Building and strengthening social relationships
- Supporting emotional regulation to improve connection with others
- Assisting with school readiness and learning
- Enhancing mental health and overall wellbeing
- Improving engagement and success in schooling
- Increasing independence in daily tasks such as dressing, toileting, and showering
